What is mobilelib?

mobilelib, Outreach Services of the DeSoto Parish Library, exists to provide a personal, one-on-one service to customers outside the walls of the library. Guided by the informational, educational and recreational needs of its users, the service is a flexible resource aimed at bringing library programs and materials to all DeSoto Parish residents.

mobilelib customers have access to a variety of print and multimedia materials. Personalization is key to this service, with library staff tailoring each visit to the users’ interests.

What Services Are Offered Through mobilelib?

mobilelib relies on the knowledge and expertise of the DeSoto Parish Library staff. Depending on the customer’s needs and location, staff best suited for each individual request will be assigned. Listed below are common services offered through mobilelib. Additional services may be available.

• Direct Delivery: library materials delivered to individuals, businesses, schools, nursing homes, preschools and daycare centers, senior centers, churches and hospitals throughout DeSoto Parish.

• Programs: booktalks, themed storytime and crafts, reader’s advisory, beginning genealogy assistance, information literacy classes and reference services.
