Music Boxes on Display @ Mansfield

Music boxes on display at the Mansfield Main Library
Julia Dickerson, activities director at the Mansfield Nursing Home, graciously loaned the Mansfield Main Library her collection of music boxes to display for patrons to enjoy.
Mrs. Dickerson has been collecting for over 40 years and has quite an unusual collection. Many have been made by her mother, Elsie Dickerson, who prided herself in making it strange and different… a spider, piano, sports items and many more. The music boxes have come from all over, including Switzerland, Germany, Colorado, California and even Louisiana. She has two handmade original music boxes that she considers priceless. When asked her favorite, you can imagine her answer, ‘any one my Mother had made for me.’

Mrs. Elsie (or Moms as she was often called) still lives on through the sights and sounds of the beautiful handmade ceramic music boxes made for her youngest daughter.
Stop by the Mansfield Main Library to view this unique collection Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. For more information contact Ms. Doris Ross, Mansfield Main Branch Manager at 872-6100.
